As announced, Haitian-American Luckenson King Pablo, 31, who murdered his wife on December 6, appeared before a judge on Monday.
King Pablo was charged with first-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife, Melissa Janvier Pablo, 32, as confirmed by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, NBC10 reported.
At his arraignment, it was revealed that the couple had been married for over 20 years, but had recently separated, according to NBC10. However, those close to the family speak of 10 years of marriage. December 4 marked the 10th anniversary of Melissa and Luckenson King Pablo’s tumultuous marriage.
According to prosecutors, King Pablo shot Janvier Pablo twice before fleeing the scene. Shortly thereafter, he called police to report the shooting and surrendered.
Luckenson King Pablo, 31, of Chelsea, Massachusetts, accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife near a Chelsea hotel last Friday morning, is due to appear before a judge in about a month.
The crime occurred around 8:45 a.m. in the area of Eastern Avenue and Marginal Street. Janvier Pablo was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Melissa Janvier Pablo was the daughter of two children. Arrangements are currently underway for her mother to travel from Haiti to the United States for the funeral of her only daughter, aged 32.
