Environ 24 heures après le vote de la résolution 2699 autorisant le déploiement d’une force multinationale en Haiti, le président Américain Joe Biden s’est entretenu avec son homologue Kenyan William Ruto.
Lors d’une conversation téléphonique ce mardi, Biden et Ruto ont parlé de la résolution introduite par les Etats-Unis et supportée par l’Equateur qui a été adoptée presqu’à l’unanimité par le conseil de sécurité des Nations-Unies.
Cette rencontre a été l’occasion pour le chef de la maison blanche de remercier son homologue Kenyan “d’avoir répondu à l’appel d’Haïti en tant que pays chef de file de la mission multinationale de soutien à la sécurité (MSS)”, a fait savoir le bureau de la représentante Américaine aux Nations-Unies dans un communiqué.
Joe Biden s’est également félicité du vote favorable de la plus haute instance de l’ONU. Pour Joe Biden, le déploiement de la mission permettra d’alléger le sort du peuple Haitien qui “souffre depuis bien trop longtemps aux mains de criminels violents.”
Louant le partenariat fructueux entre les deux pays, le chef de l’Etat Américain a également félicité son homologue “d’avoir accueilli le sommet africain sur le climat.”
Le communiqué de la mission Américaine à l’ONU n’a pas fait état de communication entre la maison blanche et le gouvernement Haïtien.
