Rémy was released by the kidnappers who had held him for 20 days while waiting for the payment of a ransom.
Several online media outlets reported the news, citing the group ‘Koze kretyen’ on its Facebook page.
The leader of the church on Christophe Avenue was released on Saturday evening but the amount of the ransom was not specified by the family of the former hostage who had engaged in tough negotiations with the kingpins who demanded the staggering sum of two million dollars.
The conference of pastors had initially demanded the release of Lochard Rémy but no mobilization was really observed in this sense within the evangelical community.
In the meantime, cases of kidnapping continue to multiply in the capital and its outskirts. Not a day goes by without at least one kidnapping in Port-au-Prince.
On February 25, a mechanic was kidnapped in the Wag alley in the center of the capital.
