Stanley Dyeferson Vendredi, a 22-year-old Haitian national residing in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, is currently in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody following multiple felony charges related to the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl.
His arrest was publicly disclosed by ICE’s Philadelphia field office via its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to court documents (Docket No. MJ-09301-CR-0000182-2023, Incident No. PA 2023-825685), Vendredi has been charged with felony statutory rape, felony corruption of a minor, misdemeanor indecent assault of a person under the age of 16, and misdemeanor indecent exposure.
The alleged events occurred in the first half of 2023, and the victim ultimately became pregnant as a result of the unlawful relationship.
A report by the Pennsylvania State Police dated June 26, 2023, indicates that the state’s ChildLine hotline had received a tip alleging that Vendredi, then 21 years old, had been sexually involved with a 15-year-old girl at a residence in Shippensburg.
The victim was interviewed by investigators in the presence of her father and allegedly told officers that she had met Vendredi on social media, and that he had known her true age. According to police, the relationship lasted several months and ended in March 2023 after the girl discovered she was pregnant.
In a separate interview, the victim’s father stated that he had initially been led to believe Vendredi was 17 years old. He later learned, only after the pregnancy was revealed, that Vendredi was in fact 21 at the time of the relationship. Following this discovery, the family urged the victim to end the relationship and began seeking medical care for her and the unborn child.
State troopers interviewed Vendredi at his home the same day. He allegedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim, including one instance in a car parked in a public area. That detail led to the additional charge of indecent exposure. Vendredi also reportedly acknowledged that he was aware the victim was 15 years old and that he was the biological father of the child.
He was placed in custody on $15,000 bail and was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on July 12, 2023.
ICE later confirmed that Vendredi was taken into custody by its Philadelphia office due to his criminal charges and immigration status. He is now being held in immigration detention while removal proceedings are considered.
