A gunman shot several bullets at the manager of a public vehicle, this weekend, in Delmas 75, while he was collecting his revenue.
There is nothing abnormal, except that the price of the Delmas-Carrefour airport circuit or others had risen from 15 gourdes to 25 gourdes during the fictitious shortage of petroleum products. And when the government raised the price of petroleum products for these same routes, managers and drivers, instead of the 25 gourdes arbitrarily claimed, demanded 50 gourdes from users.
Maliciously and wickedly, the government authorities had indicated that the prices of the different routes would not be increased knowing full well that the members of the public transport would not swallow these impromptu and irresponsible declarations aimed at not inciting the wrath of the population.
Altercations between passengers, managers and drivers often turn ugly and sometimes lead to tragedy as was the case this weekend.
The head of the gathering of Taptap Drivers of Haiti, Thomas Camille, confirmed this death for ZoomHaïtiNews calling on the government to assume its responsibilities by determining the new rates of the different circuits via the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
