The Embassy of the United States of America in Haiti announced, Thursday, the holding of a high-level emergency meeting with international partners, December 17, on the Haitian situation.
The virtual meeting will be chaired by Assistant Secretary of State for Americas Affairs Brian Nichols, embassy officials said.
Political, security and economic issues will be among the topics of discussion, with governments and humanitarian organizations working in Haiti taking part. Support for the Haitian people will be determined and proposed by the participants during these meetings in order to stop the deterioration of the overall situation of the country, said the U.S. Embassy.
