The Senate of the Republic has indicated that February 7 will undoubtedly mark the end of the mandate of the late Jovenel Moïse, which will cause the end of that of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.
On the deadline, the Senate institution is waiting for the Secretary General of the Presidency, Josué Pierre-Louis, to transfer the presidential sash to be deposited in the Museau du Panthéon National Haïtien (MUPANAH), in accordance with the wishes of the construction on the transfer of power.
In the meantime, the government team will take care of the current affairs, recommended the Senate under the leadership of Joseph Lambert, indicating that from February 7, the Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, will not be empowered to take any action on behalf of the State.
The Senate is inviting members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (Clip) and other political actors to a high-level meeting to determine institutional normalcy after February 7.
