Haiti-Culture: End of year cultural festivities for the Cap-Haitians

The North Office of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, together with the North Office of the Ministry of Tourism and the Organization of Management of the North Destination (OGDNH) organize from December 29 to 31 of this year a Christmas Market to mark the holiday season in the metropolitan area of the second city of the country, Cap-Haitian.

The objective of this important socio-cultural activity is to highlight the know-how and talents of producers, artisans and businesses in the northern region of the country; to support the promotion of cultural events in order to encourage access to culture as a lever and principle of sustainable development and to create a festive environment for the people of the metropolitan region of Cap-Haitian.
“Putting to contribution cultural activities as a lever for the development of social cohesion, presenting to the general public the best of local culture and crafts, creating a showcase for local artisans during the holiday season that is rich in animation” are among others, the focal points of this umpteenth Christmas Market at the end of the year, according to the organizers.


A festive period for the Ministry of Culture
Recall that the Ministry of Culture and Communication together with other partners in the region has already several other activities in this period of festivities of the holiday season, including: a Christmas Village with the Association Aide et Action in the South’East, in Jacmel.

During this Christmas Village, the Departmental Directorate of the South’East of the Ministry of Culture and Communication has carried out an important Fanal Competition to perpetuate the tradition, not to mention the performances of different groups, troops and artists of the new generation who have allowed the Jamaicans to live moments of delight on the occasion of Christmas.
The Ministry of Culture and Communication also realized a great contest of DJs in the Department of the Center with cultural elements to allow the animators and operators of the Center to show their talent as Haitian cultural promoters.
