After participating in the 9th Summit of the Americas held in Los Angeles, United States, from June 6 to 10, 2022, Prime Minister Ariel Henry left the country this Saturday, July 2, 2022, bound for Suriname to participate in the 43rd Meeting of Heads of State and Government of Caricom, to be held from July 3 to 5, 2022.
This 43rd meeting of Heads of State and Government of Caricom will be an opportunity to discuss the general situation of the Republic of Haiti, including the process of its integration into the market and the single economy of Caricom, and climate financing.
On the sidelines of these meetings, high-level bilateral meetings will be held between the head of the Haitian government, Dr. Ariel Henry and leaders of the region on various topics of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister’s Office indicates that Prime Minister Ariel Henry will return to the country on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, two days before the commemoration of the first anniversary of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, on July 7, 2022.
Let’s talk about the participation of Ariel Henry in the 43rd meeting of Caricom, it should be remembered that the former head of state Jovenel Moïse had held the presidency of CARICOM for 6 months (from January to June 2018). Moreover, the country had, in February 2018, hosted the 29th inter-sessional meeting of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of CARICOM.
