A new case of kidnapping was foiled this Thursday afternoon not far from the American Embassy in Tabarre by the Border Police and the Intervention Brigade against Land Insecurity.
The victim, an employee of a commercial bank in the capital, had her life saved thanks to the intervention of the two PNH units that arrived in time. The bandits had to flee and leave behind them a 12-gauge shotgun with 3 rounds of ammunition and a white KIA Sportage car, license plate AA 47297, which was in the service of the kidnappers, according to the online media l’Exclusivité, quoting the spokesman for the national police, Gary Desrossiers. The kidnappers left with the victim’s car, according to the spokesperson.
The victim did not hide her satisfaction to have been saved thanks to the intervention of the police. She encourages the population to collaborate more with the police institution in order to put an end to this phenomenon in the country.
For some time, a reinforced presence of the Haitian National Police has been noticed throughout the metropolitan area. This is already beginning to bring results in the opinion of many. Several cases of kidnapping have been thwarted thanks to PNH interventions and hostages have been freed, notably in the commune of Tabarre.
