A Brightline train collided with a fire truck in Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, on Saturday morning, injuring 15 people, including three firefighters.

The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. on the lanes of East Atlantic Avenue, near SE 1st Avenue, according to city authorities, ABC News reported .

Three Delray Beach firefighters were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition. In addition, Palm Beach County EMS confirmed that 12 passengers on the train suffered minor injuries and were also transported to the hospital for treatment.

Delray Beach, a neighboring town to West Palm Beach, is home to a large community of Haitian immigrants.

The scene of the accident prompted an immediate investigation involving the Delray Beach Police Department, Brightline officials and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). For now, East Atlantic Avenue remains closed while authorities examine the wreckage and assess the circumstances of the collision.

Images from the scene show extensive damage, with emergency personnel actively working to secure the area and assist those involved.

Brightline, a high-speed rail service operating in Florida, has faced several safety incidents in the past. However, details of the specific cause of this collision are still under investigation.
